Elise Verstraeten is a researcher
in the field of integrated water management, working part-time at the Vrije
Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and part-time at the Université Catholique de
Louvain (UCLouvain).
She graduated as environmental
engineer at the UCLouvain in 2018. In 2018-2019 she did a complementary master
in Artificial Intelligence at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL). After
her studies, she worked one year as consultant in geographic information
systems at Esri Belux.
Since October 2020 she is working
at the UCLouvain on the EGERIEC project. Her role is to analyze the water
quality data of water intake structures in Wallonia, to characterize its
evolution over the past 20 years.
In September 2022 Elise also joined
the VUB, where she is part of the BrusseauBis project and of the collaboration
between the infrastructure department and the hydrology department. Both
initiatives aim at evaluating the role and the potential of blue-green infrastructure
for integrated rain water management in Brussels and on the VUB campuses respectively.
