UNESCO Chair on Open Water Science and Education

The Chair on Open Water Science aims at promoting Open Science in the domain of water by facilitating co-development and use of (1) Open Data platforms (2) Free and Open Source Software (3) Open (Online) Education.


The Chair will further manage and develop the Open Water Network platform with focus on the co-developments of Internet of Things for water applications to support citizen science. In addition, e-learning materials will be developed and provided through YouTube channel.

The Chair will build further on the Open Water Network (OWN) that is currently supported by the Flemish Research Fund (FWO), the Flemish Interuniversity (VLIR).  Council, the Research Council of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB-OZR) and UNESCO/Flemish UNESCO Thrust funds (FUST).



The team hosts the UNESCO Chair on Open Water Science and Education.
