Sarah LAMOTTE
Sarah graduated as a Bioscience Engineer
specializing in Environmental Technology from Ghent University in June 2024.
Following her master's degree, she is pursuing a postgraduate degree in Weather
and Climate Modeling, a program offered by Ghent University in collaboration
with the Royal Meteorological Institute.
In March 2025, Sarah joined the BCLIMATE group as a PhD researcher. Her PhD is a joint project between Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is supervised by Prof. Dr. Wim Thiery (HYDR, VUB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Marijn Bauters (Q-ForestLab, UGent), and Prof. Dr. Ir. Pascal Boeckx (ISOFY, UGent). Her research focuses on the hydrological cycle of Congo Basin forests, with particular attention to the impacts of deforestation and climate change.
