'bglacier', a new research group within our department
We are happy to announce that we have a new research group in our department: ‘bglacier’. The ‘bglacier’ research group is headed by Prof. H. Zekollari and focuses on projecting how ice masses evolve under changing climatic conditions and how this impacts the natural environment and our society. The group will also have a special interest in understanding how the flow of ice brings old ice and meteorites to the surface of ice masses. For this, the team will rely on a wide range of techniques, including numerical modelling, remote sensing, machine learning and fieldwork. The team will initially be supported by an ERC starting grant (ICE3 project) and an FWO Odysseus grant (GlaciersMD project ).
