Storage4climate 1.0

The Storage4Climate consortium aims to address the challenges faced by the climate research community in accessing, storing, and processing large amounts of climate data. By providing infrastructure and services within the VSC network, the project aims to improve the understanding of climate change and its impacts while boosting the international competitiveness of climate-related research in Flanders. The project includes a petabyte-scale central storage capacity, a transparent interface with supercomputer infrastructure, a proxy/mirror for external climatological datasets, long-term archiving of climate information, and a searchable data interface. By unburdening researchers, minimizing costs, and optimizing data flow efficiency, Storage4Climate 1.0 aims to attract research groups to join VSC and facilitate educational activities in the field of climate research.
