Storage4climate 2.0

The Storage4Climate consortium addresses the challenges faced by the climate research community in accessing, storing, and processing large amounts of climate data. It aims to boost the international competitiveness of climate-related research in Flanders by providing infrastructure and services in the VSC network. These include a petabyte-scale central storage capacity, a transparent interface connecting the data system with supercomputer infrastructure, a proxy/mirror for external climatological datasets to optimize storage and transfer, long-term archiving and distribution of climate information, and a searchable data interface. Storage4Climate 2.0 aims to unburden researchers, minimize costs, and optimize data flow efficiency, attracting research groups to join VSC and facilitating educational activities. This initiative supports climate research and collaboration while improving accessibility to climate datasets and enhancing the overall efficiency of data management.
