Maaike IZEBOUD
Passionate about the cryosphere, Maaike uses satellite data, image processing and machine learning to study important glacial processes. For her PhD, she developed a detection method for fractures and crevasses on the ice shelves of Antarctica, analysing their past development and projecting future changes. At VUB, as a postdoctoral researcher in Harry Zekollari's bglacier group, she focuses on solving an inverse problem to estimate global glacier mass balance from observations.
