Etienne LEGRAIN

Etienne Legrain is a paleoclimatologist with a specific interest in Antarctic and ice core sciences. He obtained his PhD from the Grenoble-Alps University in October 2023 that consisted of an experimental (greenhouse gases measurement in ice cores) and modeling (conceptual global ice volume model) characterization of the carbon cycle-climate interactions over the past 2 million years.

Since January 2024, he works as a postdoctoral researcher recruited for the FROID project within the Department of Water and Climate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Glaciology Laboratory of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. The aim of the FROID project is to find and drill old ice in blue ice areas near the Belgian station, Princess Elisabeth, in Antarctica.
